lesson learnt from jpa interview...

it makes me wonder, seriously...
because of my jpa interview yesterday, i have indeed wandered deep in thought...
me : where you wanna study?
girl A : UK
girl B : UK
boy A : UK
everyone : UK
me : woah, so many UK...
-
-
why everyone keeps on insisting to go to UK???
what's so special about UK???
why would u want to go to UK just to suffer the unbearable cold?
not to mention the extreme racism issues that is on rampage over there???
somemore, you would have to endure STARVATION, because odds are, u might not have enough money to eat as teh tarik there is like, rm7...
*as if studying in a highly competitive environment isn't torturing enough, starvation just adds more spice to your life, aint it??? *
*fyi, now, most of the high ranking universities are located in US, not UK anymore... :P "
-
-
then it hit me...
GLAMOUR
it's cool to go uk, rite?
you can show off to your snobbish friends' faces that
"guess what, i'm now studying in uk! you leh???" *hidung tinggi syndrome*
then you can go there and KOU all those HOT and YUMMY english guys, rite???
-
-
-
seriously, why UK? not to mention that some universities in US/australia/ NZ/ even in asia have even higher rankings than most unis in UK...
heck, even the university of hong kong has higher rankings than the university of edinburgh...
-
-
so why on earth when i say i wanna study in hong kong, ppl at the jpa interview just gave me the "wtf" face?
what's wrong with wanting to be in an ASIAN community?
at least i don't need to handle the racism issue, not to mention that i will actually HAVE ENOUGH money to eat and shop kou kou?
-
-
why would i wanna go to a western country, dominated by caucasians, and be subjected to racial criticisms and experience severe food deprivation...
-
-
think again la...
-
-
again, these are my thoughts... so fuck bug off if you don't agree
*smiles*
i think i'm the only one who thinks of it this way...

  2. perhaps it is due to the perception since old days till now that UK has the best UK education system..
i do believe they stand for what it is being labelled but i do believe at the same time there are equally par university in the ASIA namely Nanyang U of Singapore..
somehow it is good to be exposed to and learn the western culture..
and since it is FOC, why not going to a higher standard place like UK than Australia
